Supporting Survivors of Abuse
The people providing the services are all trained volunteers of varying backgrounds, age, sexual orientation, gender and culture. We listen to and support women, men and young people (over the age of 16) who have been raped, sexually abused as children, and / or casualty sexually harassed or have experienced any other form of abusive relationship.
Counseling provides a space to help you gain a clearer understanding of yourself and your situation. Our counselors will never force you to talk about anything you are not ready to. At any of your appointments the counselor will answer any questions you have about counseling or other support needs. You and your counselor will review whether you feel the counseling is meeting your needs on a regular basis.
Whilst Counseling looks at past events, mentoring will look forward to the future. We will help you to set and achieve goals and help you to improve your life, whether through work, education or personal goals.
We will help you to excape an abusive situation. We have contacts with housing associations, legal experts and health support teams. We can signpost you to other services that you may need to help you to live a safer life free from abuse.
If you know someone who has experienced sexual violence, we can help you to support them.
Rape and sexual abuse victims, survivors are at the heart of our service.
Men - Women - Children - Old & Young can suffer from sexual violence, rape and abuse.
